Intro to Pottery Wheel

Are you ready to get your hands dirty? Join our wheel class for beginners that will teach you all the basics! Instructors teach through demonstrations to show you correct throwing posture, centering, and pulling up cylinders. If you are ready to fall in love with pottery, this is class you are looking for!

Adult Pottery Wheel II

Dig deeper into wheel throwing as Instructors guide you towards making pottery that you can use everyday! Students who have the basics down will begin to develop their skills towards more refined forms such as cups and bowls. Adding handles and trimming feet are just a few new techniques you can explore in this intensive second tier class!

Advanced Pottery Wheel

Want to go bigger and better on the wheel? This class will help you expand your vocabulary of forms and highlight advanced techniques for making pitchers, lidded jars and vases! Students should have at least 12 weeks of wheel throwing experience and be ready to push their skills!

Intro to Pottery Wheel & Pottery Wheel II – Combined Class

This combined level pottery wheel class is designed for people with a range of experiences on the wheel. Beginner or intermediate, this class will cover all of the basics of throwing on the wheel and more. Ages 16 & up. Clay, glazes, and firing fees included.

Ceramic Hand Building Sampler

Learn to create hand-built ceramic pieces without the pottery wheel. Students will be guided through the process of creating simple pots and vessels so that at the end of the 4 weeks they will have a better understanding of different hand building techniques.

Build it BIG with Clay

Students who are ready to go bigger with their ceramics will learn new strategies for scaling up their sculpture! Works larger than 24 inches in any direction is just the beginning as you explore modular options and problem-solving techniques for BIG work! Students are encouraged to have a basic understanding of working with clay. All supplies included.

Material Experience with Ceramic Hand Building

Adults explore the limits of hand building as Craig Hartenberger leads you through 4 different techniques towards clay mastery! Coil Building, Soft and Stiff Slab, and Modeling, plus surface decoration techniques will be taught will special attention to newcomers who want to learn more about sculptural possibilities! Supplies included.

A Different Way with Clay

This is a great class for beginners or for those who have tried wheel throwing and hand building. Explore the unique world of extruded forms that are both sculptural and functional. Using the mechanical extruder in the CCC studios, you can create shapes from a variety of dies that can then be cut and pasted or altered to create the foundations of your ceramic objects! Surface decoration and texturing techniques will be taught in this fast-paced, high production class! All supplies included.

Build BIG Pots

Are you ready to go BIG with your pottery? This class will help you scale up your functional forms with a variety of techniques from different cultures that make large jars. Hand building with coils, slab, and pinching with be taught as you break through your limitations and make some BIG pots! Basic hand building skills are encouraged.
