Block Printing for Beginners
4-Week Holiday Schedule Class
Tuesdays, 6:30 – 8:30
In this 4 week class you will learn how to use the linocut block printmaking process to make a variety of images that can printed as original art, on greeting cards, or posters! Students will be guided through the process of creating a design that is suitable for relief printing, shown different ways to transfer and carve images into linoleum, and by the end of this class, students will have developed the skills to create and print a single color image that can be used again and again!
Katie Allcorn is an artist and forever student with a BFA in Studio Art from Mississippi State University. After completing her emphasis in Graphic Design, she operated a freelance studio in and around Austin for ten years before growing desperate to ditch Adobe Creative Suite and go analog. Katie started drawing tiny landscapes at a laundromat in Texas in 2019. In her latest collection, Big Feelings, Katie carved and hand-printed linoleum in an attempt to loosen up her craft of logo design, adding more free expression and making the figures less perfect and more human.
*Masks will be required while in the building.
