Description

Pet Portraits

Students will learn the basics of domestic animal figures, how to make their pet stand out from other animals, and how to find what a pet owner wants to see in their pet’s portrait. Students will draw animals from imagination and from photos, and they will create a pet portrait for classmates as well as one of their own pet or beloved animal.

Jessie Ward

Jessie Ward lives and works in Fayetteville, AR with her family. Since graduating from the University of Arkansas in painting and art history, she has worked as a docent with the Arkansas Arts Center, a curatorial assistant at the Portland Art Museum, and as a painter. Ward creates oil paintings, watercolors, and drawings around themes of identity and context. She enjoys the library, cooking, and porch sitting with good friends.
