Indigo Dye with Wax Resist

This technique uses a combination of paraffin wax and beeswax. It’s melted and kept at a stable temperature, so that it remains a liquid. The wax is then applied to the fabric using a variety of different tools and techniques. This workshop is free. Ages 62 & Up Only. Please have ID present for verification.

Teaching Artist Trinity Kai

Trinity Kai

Trinity holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and will complete a Master of Fine Arts degree at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas in May 2021. Kai is a multi-disciplinary artist that works with photographic handmade processes, fabric, and sculptural materials. Kai creates work through the lens of her own personal narrative that examines societal systems of discrimination. She creates multiple forms of language through self-portraiture, written language, and materiality to share her experiences and bring viewers into conversations that can be reflective and transformational. Her work has been exhibited nationwide and resides in the permanent collection of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
