Description

Leather Working

Great fun for an afternoon! This class will give you an introduction to designing and fabricating your own leather goods, and you will create a finished product you can take home. No previous experience necessary. This workshop is free. Ages 62 & Up Only. Please have ID present for verification.

Emily Miller

 

Emily grew up on the Blue Ridge Parkway where she was immersed in a culture of Appalachian Craft from the very beginning.  She attended the University of Arkansas and Appalachian State University where she studied Making Practices and received a doctorate in the subject.  She did a TED talk called Craftonomics which summarizes her research in the area.  Emily’s primary mediums are constantly evolving, but currently, she’s working in wood, leather and stained glass.
