Nina grew up in a clay studio as the child of sculptors and has been a teacher for over 20 years. During that time she has taught every age from kindergarten to high school and multiple subjects such as Spanish, PE, skiing, art, and all school subjects. The teaching role also allowed her the opportunity to teach and live overseas for seven years in China and both the Northern and Southern parts of Kazakhstan. Part of her decision to become a teacher was to try and escape the legacy of artists in her family and do something different and yet she finds herself drawn to creating a balance between the need for art in her life and her passion for teaching. Teaching art has proven to be a happy medium. She is currently teaching art at Thaden school in Bentonville and tinkering in her own home-based clay studio. She has a full life with two daughters, two dogs, two cats, five chickens, and the desire to say yes to it all.
