Wheel Mobile Engineer

Wheel Mobile Engineer will be responsible for maintaining the Wheel Mobile vehicle, its systems and processes, strictly following the manufacturer’s recommendations and ensuring the highest quality of vehicle care and customer service.  The Wheel Mobile Engineer will drive and/or schedule drivers as required.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain maintenance schedules (batteries, generators, weatherization etc.);
  • Develop and maintain exterior cleaning schedule; work with studio staff to develop and maintain interior cleaning schedules
  • Develop and maintain pre-event, event and post-event vehicle operating procedures
  • Recruit and train drivers and/or personnel to ensure adherence to operating procedures
  • Ensure the vehicle’s short-term parking process and long-term storage needs
  • Ensure that vehicle is always prepared for scheduled events: driver engaged; water tanks, propane, gas as needed; art supplies and equipment properly secured for transportation
  • Assist teaching artist/Wheel Mobile personnel with setup and tear down before and after each event
  • Other duties as determined



  • Commercial Driver’s License and at least three years’ experience with similar vehicle
  • Advanced knowledge of vehicle maintenance and operations
  • Good organizational skills, detail oriented
  • Good interpersonal skills; interest in art
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends


Reports to:  Community Creative Center Executive Director

Compensation: At least 5 hours a week $14-$16/hr

Community Creative Center is a non-profit visual arts organization offering high quality clay and pottery, watercolor, acrylics, drawing, mosaic and mixed media arts classes and workshops for children, youth and adults of all ages and skill levels. Since 2008 Community Creative Center has been providing accessible, affordable arts experiences, arts integration programming, spring break and summer art camps, and in-school residencies to the Northwest Arkansas community. We also work with local artists providing opportunities to display and sell their work in the Nadine Baum Building lobby gallery.  In April 2018 Community Creative Center launched the Wheel Mobile, a fully functional, self-contained mobile art studio housed on a 33 ft. custom-designed Winnebago. This one-of-a-kind vehicle, equipped with 9 potter’s wheels, convertible art tables, on-board power and water, takes pottery wheel and art classes to adults and children to locations throughout Northwest Arkansas.
