In this Textiles & Dye class, students will learn and explore several processes of hand-dyeing fabric to create unique pieces of fabric. We will work several tie-dye processes and indigo. Students will be provided with fabric to create and hand-dye 2 Habotai Scarves, 3 yards of cotton fabric, and 1 cotton circle scarf. Sign up online!
Printmaking is an art medium that allows an artist to produce hand-pulled multiples using a wide range of processes. Join Acadia Kandora for a beginner 6-week printmaking class that will introduce 3 printmaking processes: Linocuts, Collagraph Monoprints, and Stencil Screenprinting with some laughs along the way! This class will introduce students to sand casting, in a miniature bench top setting! Sand casting is usually considered an industrial technique of metal casting, but it can actually be quite accessible and fun for artists. We will cover some basics of pattern making and what makes a good pattern, and we will experiment with carving molds directly in the sand.
At the end of the class, students will have the understanding and a list of where to get materials and tools to set up their own small (or not so small) sand foundry. Sign up online at communitycreativecenter.org!
